Grand Final Netball Preview – 2017

From Border Mail

BILLABONG Crows will be out to complete a fairytale finish to the season when they take on undefeated Brock-Burrum in Saturday’s A-grade netball decider.

“We’ve come good at the right time of the season,” coach Beck O’Connell said.

“During the season we only actually had three of our nine A-graders commit for the entire season due to various reasons.

“Everyone is available at the moment and we have lots of combinations.

“It’s exciting, but Brock-Burrum is going to be tough.”

O’Connell, who last played in a flag for Wodonga in 2002, has played the entire season with Rikki Robb and Paige Moloney.

Brock-Burrum last lost a match in last year’s grand final and will look to Lauren Kerrins and Janna Tait for big performances.

BROCK-Burrum will be out to cap off a remarkable season when the club fields five undefeated teams in Saturday’s grand finals at Walbundrie.

While A-grade co-coach Lauren Kerrins said it was a huge effort, she’s taking nothing for granted.

“It’s been a fantastic achievement, but we know we are going to have to play well in all grades on Saturday,” Kerrins said.

“We have played well during the year and hopefully we can continue the same way.”

Brock-Burrum’s A-grade will meet an in-form Billabong Crows.

Emily Seiter has enjoyed a fine season for the Saints with Kerrins and Janna Tait offering outstanding support.

The Saints lost one of their biggest supporters in Mary Kilroy this week.

“Mary has been at all of our games and will be sadly missed,” Kerrins said.
