HENTY bounced back in fine style from last week’s loss to prove far too strong for Lockhart winning by 78 points at Henty.

With Damian Cupido (five goals) and Shannon Terlich (four) dominating up forward, the Swampies maintained top spot on the ladder.

Harry Nunn played his best game for the season, while the Cox boys, Daniel and Dale, showed plenty of class in tricky windy conditions.

The Demons’ first quarter promised plenty, but could not maintain the good start despite some outstanding work from Henry and Jamieson Bouffler.

With the interleague bye this Saturday, the Swampies will gear up for a huge encounter against the Giants at Walbundrie on May 26.

RAND Walbundrie Walla posted its best win for the season and its most important, defeating Culcairn at Rand in a real arm wrestle.

The Giants stormed home in the final term with the wind at their back to clinch an 11-point win after several close defeats in recent rounds.

The home side scored the only goal at the Albury end of the ground in the first term, with the other 11 goals for the game coming at the northern end.

Myles Aalbers was the leading goal kicker with four, as no other player kicked more than one goal. Chris and Jeremy Duck were best for the Giants.

Culcairn will rue its missed chances in the third quarter with two goals from eight scoring shots thwarting a bigger last change lead.

HOLBROOK, despite inaccuracy in front of goal that had them convert seven goals from 27 scoring shots, defeated Billabong Crows by 16 points at Oaklands.

With a howling wind blowing to the northern end, just one goal was kicked at the clubroom end, which was by Holbrook in the first quarter.

The Crows, who jumped out of the blocks with the first four goals of the game, did not score against the breeze in both second and fourth quarters.

Brookers skipper Josh Jones capped off a superb game with two crucial goals, while Sam Harris was in everything and finished with two goals and six behinds.

Crows’ young gun George Sandral further enhanced his growing reputation as the league’s most exciting prospect with a quality performance.

OSBORNE made it four wins in a row after they defeated a much improved Howlong, at Howlong, winning by 24 points.

Howlong’s loss is its third in a row after they won its first three matches.

Its performance on Saturday was full of character and effort.

The Spiders after conceding six first quarter goals, finished the match with more scoring shots as 100-gamer Peter Hancock starred in the ruck.

Four goals to the versatile Sam Rutland was a rare forward highlight for both sides. Mitch Wickham, Duncan McMaster and Matt Guttler were best for the visitors.

AN UNDERMANNED Brock Burrum showed how deep its talent pool is by outlasting a determined home ground effort from CDHBU at Coreen.

CDHBU looked like causing an upset when they led early in the second term, before the Saints turned the game with seven unanswered goals.

Eddie Ziebarth maintained his good form with three goals, while ruckman Jeremy Luff and midfielder Ronald Boulton combined superbly.

The Saints went into the game without stars Nico Sedgwick, Kade Garland, Luke Schilg, Nick Brockley and coach Kade Stevens. Tim Cooper was excellent for the gallant Power.

JINDERA made it four wins from the opening six rounds by comfortably beating Murray Magpies by 50 points at Urana Road Oval.

The Magpies started very well to lead by three points at quarter time with both sides kicking four goals in a ripping stanza.

The Bulldogs gained control in the remaining three quarters to add 12 of the final 15 goals with Trent Castle starring with eight goals.

Dan Maher was in wonderful touch for the Magpies with good support from Alex Popko up forward and Tom Osmotherly in the ruck.

WITH a third of the home and away season done and dusted the league will have a general bye this Saturday for the Hume v Ovens and King interleague clash at Howlong.
